My name is Kevin Riley and I’m just your average 42 year old man who enjoys writing and speaking my mind.  I have a lot of interests, but like everyone, I have my favorites.  I’ve been married to a wonderful woman for almost 20 years now and I’m very proud of the fact that we have a strong marriage when in today’s world so many marriages fail.  We are both proud parents of a 16 year old girl who is a very talented artist.  I don’t  mind bragging about the fact she is in a special program through the county school system for the arts.  Out of over 300 applicants that year, only 16 were accepted so we are rather proud of her.

 

I’ve held several jobs over the years.  I’ve been an engineer, a project manager, a release manager, and a salesman.  I’ve worked at a company that manufactured terminal blocks and electronic connection devices, a high-tech company that manufactured wireless broadband modems (nothing like the ones in your house that connects you to broadband), a pressure vessel and storage tank manufacturer and a company that sells chemicals for Industrial and Commercial applications.  My wife has also had a varied career and has been everything from a secretary to managing a small business.  My daughter, only being 16, hasn’t held a job yet, but her day is coming but of course I’m more worried about her schooling right now.

 

I hold credentials as a minister with the Church of God.  I once was a youth pastor and I loved it.  Sadly, I moved on from that position and although I don’t pastor a church, I still love getting into the Word and sharing it with anyone who wants to listen.  Just because I don’t have a regular pulpit, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t give me sermons or revelations on His Word.  I use blogging to share those things and I hope that anyone who reads them gets something from them or is touched by them.  What I write isn’t so much a sermon as it is something to touch you, or make you think about your life and God.  To this day, I stand amazed at what Jesus has done in my life.  From where I once way, to where I am now.  To the journey along the way.  At times there has been laughter, joy, tears, and heartache, but I wouldn’t change a thing.  I love the Lord with all my heart and being.

 

Besides the Word of God, I also love computers, at least most days.  I consider myself an amateur tech and like to try and experience new things.  Be it networking, hardware, software or peripherals, I’m usually into something, trying it out.  The same holds true with mobile phones for some reason.  My wife says I’m a technogeek and I have to admit she is right (at least just this one time).

 

I also try and stay up to date with what is going on with the world.  I read a lot of news and like a lot of people, have opinions and don’t mind sharing them.  Some of what I see going on in today’s world I find so silly, or lacking in common sense (at least from my own view) that I can’t seem to help myself from speaking out.

 

So welcome to my blog, about the life of a man with the last name of Riley, where you will find it’s not always that wonderful, but always interesting.  Here you will find my views on news, current events, technology, and just about anything else that strikes my fancy.  You will also find me exploring the Word of God with the intention of reaching everyone, saved or not, believer or not.
